Edna R. (Laplante) Laflamme 82, of Eddie Dowlind Hwy, North Smithfield died Friday after a brief illness. She was the wife of Conrad J. Laflamme for 51 years.
She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Louis and Laura (Laperle) Laplante, and had been a resident of North Smithfield since 1957. She and her husband traveled the world and visited seven continents.
Mrs. Laflamme was a former dental assistant, former member of the Fogarty Hospital Guild, the Red Cross and also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Providence. She worked for the Federal and State Census Bureaus as well as the School Census Bureau.
She became a homemaker to raise her two daughters, Elise Laflamme of Woonsocket, and Colette Laflamme of N. Scituate, and a nephew Paul Belhumeur now of Reading PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Mrs. Laflamme was the sister of the late Lionel, Rene, Eugene, Robert and Raymond Laplante, Alice Deguire, Cecile Sokolski, and Therese Belhumeur.
Her committal service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Blackstone, MA.
