Richard P. Welch, Sr., 66, of Dedham, died February 3, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. (Galvin) Welch.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Knecht) Welch. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and a retired employee of Verizon.
He was the devoted father of John, William, Kara, and Richard P. Welch III, and Kristin Plansky. He was the stepfather of John, Barbie, and Judy Galvin. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren. He was the beloved brother of Beatrice O'Sullivan, Patricia Lyons, Elaine Remick, Margaret Rogerson, Dorothy Cabral, Katherine Terry, and Joseph Welch and the son-in-law of Judy Gatulis.

Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Dedham at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
