Obituary

WEBSTER - Richard J. Blouin, 80, formerly of North Grosvenordale, CT, died Saturday, February 2, in Lanessa Extended Care Facility. His wife of 54 years, Pearl M. (Southard) Blouin, died in 2003.

He leaves 2 sons, George R. Blouin and his wife Lois “Lollie” and Robert A. Blouin; a brother, Roland Blouin; 4 sisters, Irene Mickiewicz and Lucille LaPlante, all of Webster, Rita Strzelewicz of Oxford and Geraldine Grenier of North Grosvenordale, CT; 3 grandchildren, William, Jesse and Nicole Blouin; a great granddaughter, Mollie Blouin; nephews and nieces.

He was born in Amesbury, the youngest son of the twelve children of Emile and Yvonne Marie (Fournier) Blouin. He lived Webster before moving to North Grosvenordale in 1970. He then returned to Webster.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Blouin was a backhoe operator for the former A. Mason and Sons Construction Company. He worked there for 20 years before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Saint Louis Church.

A memorial Mass will be held Monday, February 11, at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide military honors. There are no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Support Network, PO Box 839, Southbridge, MA 01550-0839. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street.
