Cornelia M. “Connie” (Markey) Pickett, 65, of Medfield and Centerville, formerly of Wellesley and Newton, died February 2, 2008.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Sullivan) Markey. She was a graduate of Newton High School and Lesley University. She was a teacher in the Wellesley Public Schools and a Librarian at the Meadowbrook School in Weston. Connie acted justly, loved tenderly, and walked humbly with God.
She was the sister of Patricia M. Keogh and her husband Michael of Wayland and William F. Markey Jr. and his wife Elaine of Norfolk and Osterville. She was the aunt of William F. Markey III and his wife Joyce of Glen Ellyn, IL and Heather Markey Zink and her husband Joseph of Needham. She was the stepmother of Christopher C. Pickett and his wife Laura of Roslindale, M. Brent Pickett and his wife Laurie of St. Paul, MN and K. Elison Ypon and her husband Chad of New York City. She also leaves 3 grandchildren and 6 grandnieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Wednesday at 9 AM with a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley Hills, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A private burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Barnstable. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral Home.
