Flora J. "Jenny" (Phillips) Houghton, a 56 year resident of Stoneham, died on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following a lengthy illness. She was 79 years old.
Jenny was born in Charlestown, MA, on April 3, 1928. She grew up in Charlestown and attended Boston Public Schools and Charlestown High School. She worked several jobs before becoming a homemaker to take care of her husband and children.
Jenny is the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Houghton. She is the devoted mother of James E. Houghton of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Judith A. Houghton of Colebrook, New Hampshire. She is the loving grandmother of Jennifer Cali and Melissa Houghton both of Nashua, New Hampshire. She is the beloved sister of Mae Blaikie of Deerfield, New Hampshire and the late Fred Langille. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Jenny on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
