Woody J. Wilson, III, 60, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Isaac Thomas officiating. Rick Handley will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Dorminy Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Wilson was born September 3, 1947 in Fitzgerald to W.J. Wilson Jr. and Juliene Padgett Wilson. He was a farmer, lived in the community all of his life and graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1965. Mr. Wilson was a member, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, a Song Leader, Superintendent of Sunday School and director of Discipleship Training at Dorminy Mill Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Fitzgerald Jaycees and the Young Farmers.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Glenda Land Wilson of Fitzgerald; daughter & son-in-law, Dawn & Greg Stokes of Fitzgerald; son, Woody J. Wilson, IV of Fitzgerald; 6 grandchildren; parents, W.J. & Juliene Wilson of Fitzgerald; sisters & brothers-in-law, Apricot & Herman McIntyre of Irwinville and Jackie & Wendell Davis of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robbie Lynn Wilson and a brother, James Wilson.
