FALL RIVER… Leo O. Longchamps, 85, of Fall River died Tuesday January 29, 2008.
He was the widower of Jeannette (Ravenelle) Longchamps. They had been married for 64 years.
He was born in Fall River a son of the late Albert and Alice (Patterson) Longchamps and had been a life long resident of Fall River. Mr. Longchamps enjoyed woodworking and cooking. He worked over 30 years for New England Power and was retired from the U.S. Navy as a ship’s cook 1st class. He was a Navy veteran of W.W.II. He and his late wife enjoyed traveling across the country in their motor home and spent 17 winters in Florida.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Deborah Ann Longchamps, of Fall River, and Janice Mae St. Michel and her husband William Lehr of Granada Hills, CA., 3 brothers: Arthur Longchamps of Swansea, Armand Longchamps of Tacoma, WA and Ernest Longchamps of Milford, a Sister Jeanne Langlais of Somerset, He was the grandfather of Jacquelyn St. Michel and the late Robin St. Michel. He had several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lorraine Longchamps and the late Helen Longchamps. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 9 AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Thomas Street, Fall River.
