Marie Hunter Walker, 91, of Water Valley, MS died Monday, January 28, 2008, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. She was born October 10, 1916 to the late Grafton Penson and Marinda Holt Hunter. She was a retired Beautician (27 years) who had been a Pink Lady for 20 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
The visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2008 at Sylva Rena Baptist Church from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, February 1, 2008 at Sylva Rena Baptist Church at 1:00 pm with Bro. James West and Bro. Calvin Miller presiding. The committal will be held in Bethlehem Cemetery in Yalobusha County (Velma Community) with Dale Wilbourn, Howard Barton, Richard Sumner, Travis Brooks, Lee Pullen, Willie Pullen, Jack Biggers, and David Beckwith serving as pallbearers. Grayson Walker Beckwith will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Mrs. Walker is survived by a brother, Percy Hunter of Coldwater, MS.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Walker on August 31, 2002; sister, Geneva Muirhead; and two brothers, Leroy Edwin Hunter and Thomas Crow Hunter.
