Obituary

LOWELL - George A. Dabilis, 74, of Lowell and formerly of Chelmsford, died after a lengthy battle with cancer on Monday, January 28th at his home.

He was born in Lowell on October 29, 1933, and was a son of the late Andrew and Fotina (Bouka) Dabilis. He attended Lowell schools and also attended Springfield College.

Mr. Dabilis served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Prior to his retirement, he was a longtime real estate developer with the City of Lowell, Dracut and Nashua, NH, as well as the commercial paint contractor to a local supermarket chain, Market Basket for over 25 years with his son Stephen.

He was an avid basketball fan.

He is survived by three children James J. Dabilis and his fiancé Suzanne Brown, both of Lowell, Stephen Dabilis of Lowell, and Christine Dabilis-Kemos and Steven of Laconia, NH; fourteen grandchildren Stephen, Brett, Samantha, Steven, George, Demimarie, Jennifer, Krystle, Justin, Brian, Jake, Nicholas, Danielle, and Taila; six great grandchildren; two sisters Eva Gavriel of Chelmsford, and Joyce Starr and her husband Earl of Carlsbad, CA; a brother William Dabilis of Ft. Myers, FL; his fiancé and loving companion Alice Galloway and her family of Lowell, her son Gary, her son George and his wife Cheryl, her son Jerry and his wife Cathy, and her daughter Gale, and many nieces, nephews, and several close friends.

He was also the brother of the late Aphrodite Daileanes, James Dabilis, and Ernest "Ozzie" Dabilis.

Services are private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT.
