Obituary

Denton Stuckey Coleman, 76, of Tifton died Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Dr. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith, III will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Bowen, Matthew Bowen, Russel Burch, Doyle Dominy, Randall Coleman and Charles Coleman.

Mr. Coleman was born on August 21, 1931 in Laurens County and was the son of John Andy Coleman and Trudy Stuckey Coleman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother. He was a retired supervisor for J. P. Stevens and Fortsman Company and a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Tifton Kiwanis Club, the American Legion and served in the United States Army in the Korean War.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Carolyn Dominy Coleman of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Ray Bowen of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy R. and Gail Coleman of Dublin; one sister, Hazel Lowery of Dublin; two grandchildren, Matthew Bowen and Joshua Bowen; two nieces; and two nephews.
