Laconia-James Ernest Dow, 48, of 101 South Main Street died unexpectedly Sunday morning, January 27, 2008 at his home.
A lifelong resident, Jim was born in Laconia, New Hampshire on March 5, 1959, the son of Robert J. and Lucille R. (Godbout) Dow.
Prior to his retirement due to disability, Jim was employed for over 29 years by Pike Industries, Inc. as a crusher operator.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. Along with his wife, he spent many memorable hours boating on Lake Winnipesaukee. There wasn’t anything Jim couldn’t or wouldn’t fix for anybody. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Gilmanton Snowmobile Association. A graduate of Laconia High School, Jim was a member of the class of 1977.
Jim is predeceased by his father, Robert J. Dow in 1996.
Jim is survived by his wife, Denise M. (Robbins) Dow of Laconia; his daughter, Misty Lee Dow of Laconia; his mother, Lucille R. (Godbout) Dow of Laconia; two brothers, Robert B. Dow and his wife Linda and their daughter Amanda of Gilmanton, and twin brother John N. Dow and his wife Sheri and their children Candace, Ben, and Ryan Dow of Laconia; two sisters, Linda Saunders and her husband Bill of Belmont, and Laura Prentice and her husband Ed of Franklin; his half-sister, Kim Dow of Laconia; his step-son, Joshua Robbins and his wife Katie of Bristol; three grandchildren, Jaelyn Dow, Aidyn, and Masin Robbins. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive Jim.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia at 11:00 a.m. Entombment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel, Garfield Street, Laconia to await burial in the family lot in the spring. Visiting were Wednesday, January 30, 2008 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the memorial home.
