Grace V. (Renn) Donahue 89 years of Brockton died January 26, 2008 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edwin J. Donahue (ret. Lt. BFD). Grace was born September 8, 1918 in Brockton a daughter of the late Richard J. and Loretta F. (Barry) Renn and remained a lifelong resident of the city. She retired after 20 years as the Executive Secretary to several Presidents at Stonehill College. She was a former member of Ireland’s Own, an active member of the Brockton Garden Club, an officer of the Brockton Chapter of AARP for many years and an active participant with the Brockton Council on Aging.
She was always active in local politics, including serving as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and reading and will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
Grace leaves behind her daughters Lauretta A. Durand of Rockford, IL and Patricia F. Willis and her husband Lawrence of Middleboro, her son Edwin J. Donahue, Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Randolph, as well as seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Grace is also survived by two sisters Miriam Kelleher and Barbara Shinnick both of Brockton. She was also the sister of the late Irene Bishop, Laura Cyr and Elsie McGinley.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 10 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 439 West St., Brockton at 11 am.
