Obituary

Alfred T. Salvatore, a long-time Medford resident died Friday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was 94.

Born in Revere, Alfred was the son of the late Lawrence and the late Angelina (Pirone) Salvatore. He worked at Suffolk Downs in his younger years and met his future wife, Marion. After their marriage, he served in the Army during World War II. He was an anti-tank gunner in the Pacific. His combat service brought him throughout the Pacific, including the Philippines, where he earned a Bronze Star. Upon his return to his family, Al worked as a quality control supervisor at the General Electric plant in Lynn for 30 years. A great husband and father, Al enjoyed dancing with his wife, travel to Florida and the company of his friends. He was a member of the VFW, Medford and was an active parishioner at Saint Clement, where he served as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist.

He was the husband of the late Marion (Freda) Salvatore. He was a Loving father to Alfred, Jr. of Stoneham and the late Stephen. He was the brother of the late Pasquale, Domenic, Teddy, Millie, Minnie, Emma and Marion. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

His funeral procession will gather at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Tuesday at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial offered in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford/ Somerville at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.

Family and friends may call Monday from 4-8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
