Lucien J .”Sonny” Decelles 81, of Sycamore St. died Wednesday at Landmark Medical Center. Mr. Decelles was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Lucien A. and Loretta (Walsh) Decelles. He was the husband of Lucille (Nantell) Decelles. Mr. Decelles worked for the Crystal Lunch for 5 years. He managed the former Beverly Restaurant along with his brother “Buddy” for 23 years. He worked for Felici’s Restauranat which later became Savini’s for several years, and retired in 1998 as a custodian for the Lincoln Northern Elementary School. Mr. Decelles served in the Air Force and was a member of the Air Corps Band.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Lucien J. Decelles III of Woonsocket, a daughter Barbara Ann Decelles Evans of Franklin, MA, two step-sons David M. L’Esperance of Smithfield, RI, and Michael A. L’Esperance of Bellingham, MA, a step-daughter Anne Marie L’Esperance of Woonsocket, a brother Donald E. “Buddy” Decelles of Bellingham, MA, and two sisters Joan Morelle of Cumberland and Carol Laramee of Woonsocket, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. in Sacred Heart Church, Second Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 4-7 pm.
