Obituary

Alvita Clement, 77, of Tifton died Friday, January 25, 2008, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2008, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Jason Dixon will officiate with burial to follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Kirkland (near Pearson). Pallbearers will be Chip Watson, Michael Babbitt, Robert Lupinek, Chris Madden, Tim Nowak and Danny Spikes. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 27, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Ms. Clement was born on August 11, 1930 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Noah Tyson and Agnes O'Neal Tyson, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton Clement; one brother; and one sister. She was retired from the Holiday Inn and was of the Baptist faith.

Ms. Clement is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Laura Babbitt of Tifton; two daughters, Linda Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, and Joanne Dixon of Valdosta; three brothers, Buddy Tyson of Macon, Billy Tyson of Nashville, and Bennie Joe Tyson of Macon; three sisters, Juanita Spikes of Pearson, Clisteen Luke of Tifton, and Anna Sue Wiggins of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Robin Nowak, Matt Johnston, Julie Madden, Jason Dixon, Marie Lupinek, Chip Watson, and Michael Babbitt; and eight great grandchildren.
