Obituary

Laconia-David Wayne Morrissette, 63, of 765 Union Avenue died unexpectedly Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his home.

A lifelong resident, David was born in Laconia, New Hampshire on December 20, 1944, the son of the late Oscar and Rachel (Valley) Morrissette.

Prior to his retirement, David was employed for many years at New Hampshire Ball Bearing, Astro Division where he had worked with several of his family members. He had also worked at Aavid Thermaloy, and Freudenberg, NOK.

David enjoyed making puzzles, collecting stamps, as well as hunting and fishing in past years, but his love was his birds; cockatiels and parakeets. His birds were his pride and joy. David had a heart of gold, and his family could depend on him anytime he was asked a favor. He was a life member of the Laconia Rod and Gun.

Besides his parents, David is predeceased by his first wife, Sarah (Dyamond) Morrissette, and his grandparents, Wilfred and Genevieve Morrissette, and Paul and Elizabeth Valley.

David is survived by his lifelong companion, Pauline Stohl of Meredith; his daughter, Elizabeth Morrissette and her companion Ron Francis of Windsor, Vermont; three brothers, Gene Morrissette and his wife Bernice of Belmont, Ralph Morrissette and his wife Mary of Plymouth, and Bruce Morrissette and his wife Marcella of Tilton; two sisters, Carol Campbell and her husband Emile of Laconia, and Corrine O’Mara also of Laconia; a granddaughter, Sarah Bourgoine; a grandson, Jonathan Garroe; his step-mother, Irene Morrissette of Belmont; a step-brother, Kenneth Kondratawitcz; a step-sister, Christine Lauer of Candia. Many nieces and nephews also survive David; Cindy Lapointe, Danny, Gary, and Scott Morrissette, Jeff, Randy, and Rusty Morrissette, Rachel, Angie, and Sherry O’Mara, Emile, Jr., Brandy, Nicki, and Tonya Campbell. He also has a long family tree of many cousins all over the United States.

A Celebration of David’s life was held Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia at 5:30 p.m. Rev. Michael C. Graham, pastor of Gilford Community Church officiated. Visiting hours were from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the memorial home. Entombment took place in Union Cemetery, Academy Street to await burial in the family lot in the spring.
