TEWKSBURY - Elaine (Jackson) Doyle, age 82, a member of the Tewksbury community for the past four decades, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 24, at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas E. Doyle, who died in 1997.
She was born in Point Edward, Nova Scotia, Canada, on September 23, 1925, a daughter of the late Stanley and Thelma (Grant) Jackson. She emigrated to the U.S. as a child and was raised in Arlington, MA. Upon her marriage to her husband Tom, who was a career Navy Lieutenant, she raised her family in South America, the Carribean, Europe and across the United States. The family settled in Tewksbury in 1965. She worked as a Security Administrator for the R.C.A. company in Burlington until her retirement.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth A. Doyle and his wife Sharon (Gagnon) Doyle of Tewksbury, with whom she resided, and Robert G. Doyle and his wife Lori (Marhefka) Doyle of Greenfield, MA; two grandchildren, Wendy Doyle and Eric Doyle both of Tewksbury; an aunt, Rita Poirier of Malden; a step-daughter, Susan Banchero of Antioch, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Joyce Bunton and Doris Carroll.
Her Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home. Following cremation, her interment will be private. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701 will be appreciated.
