Gracia L. (Messier) Gobeil, 88, of Mattapoisett died December 15, 2001 at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Norman B. Gobeil,and daughter of the late Joseph Arthur and Melina (Savoie) Messier.
Born and educated in New Bedford, she resided in the New York-New Jersey area for 40 years before moving to Mattapoisett in 1979.
Mrs. Gobeil was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church, where she as a past treasurer of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and former member of the daily Rosary Group.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Suzanne G. Ryan of Barrington, RI, Nancy L. Gibney of Jackson Heights, NY, and Elizabeth J. Gobeil of Mattapoisett; a son, Paul G. Gobeil of Amesbury; 2 brothers, Bernard L. Messier of Mattapoisett and Raymond F. Messier of Lowell; a sister, Therese B. Shurtleff of Fairhaven; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Hervey A. Messier, Roger J. Messier, Rita R. Messier, Adrienne M. Milott, and J. Everett Messier.
