Cecile E. (Cote) Johnson-Land age 72 of Salem, NH, died Saturday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.
She was born in Sherbrooke, Canada, where she grew up and attended schools and later moved to Lawrence, MA and graduated from St. Anne’s School.
Mrs. Land was a homemaker, but she will always be remembered as the professional volunteer. She volunteered at the Kelly Library in Salem, the Salem Senior Center, Holy Family Hospital, and at the Polls in Salem, just to name a few. She was a member of the Pleasant St. United Methodist Church in Salem, and a member of the Red Hatters Club. In her younger days she was involved with the ladies bowling league, active with the Harness Racing Assoc., & Rockingham Park Race Track, where she and her late husband Harry owned thoroughbred and harness horses. She was also a member of the Salem Jr. Women’s Club.
She was predeceased by her first husband: Harold C. Johnson
