Shannon L. Meara, age 24, died tragically, January 20th. Born in Stoneham she was the beloved daughter of Arlene (Evans) Meara of Woburn and Arthur Meara of Malden.
Shannon was a Woburn resident for most of her life. She attended Woburn Schools and was a graduating member of Woburn Memorial High Schools class of 2001 where she was involved in several of the schools clubs. Shannon had completed three years of college and was planning to return back to college to finish her studies. Shannon was a parishioner of St. Barbara Church and was active with church youth groups and even taught CCD classes to some of the younger parishioners. Shannon enjoyed ice skating, playing tennis, dancing, skiing and loved animals. Memorial contributions may be made in Shannon's memory to the Jane Doe Inc. 14 Beacon St. suite 507, Boston, MA 02108.
In addition to her parents, Shannon is survived by her grandparents Yolanda Fahey of Lexington and Richard Meara of Malden. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Lorraine and David Guest of Stoneham, Thomas and Barbara Evans of Tewksbury, Kathleen Fahey of Lexington, Joseph Meara, Patricia Capello and Richard Meara Jr. all of Malden, and Morgan Meara of Fall River. She was the grandniece of Virginia Pope, Lawrence Ellis, Henry Janez and Arthur Coffey. She is further survived by many loving cousins and friends.
Her funeral will be from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Saturday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
