Manchester:Violet M. (Cote-Fortuna) Lula, 92, died peacefully January 23, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home.
She was born in Manchester on May 20, 1915 the daughter of Amedee Henry Cote and Alma (Collins-Cote) Webb . She was educated in the Manchester school system.
She retired from Arm Tec in 1980 as an inspector in quality control, prior to that she was a payroll supervisor in the 1960’s at MKF for several years.
She was a long time parishioner of St. Anne’s Parish and most recently Blessed Sacrament Parish. She enjoyed being a member of TOPS, where she made many friends.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward J. Fortuna who died in 1942 and her second husband, Walter E. Lula who died in 1982.
Members of her family include 2 daughters Janice Fortuna of Manchester and Mrs. Andrew (Elaine) Cant of Hayward, CA.
IN HER LIFE: She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Elaine LaFrance, Edward J. LaFrance and Carolyn LaFrance Gohary all from CA., 3 greatgrandchildren, Andrew LaFrance, Armita Gohary and Evan Gohary, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Mrs. Arthur (Eva) Bernard in 2004.
SERVICES:Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St..
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church.
Encryptment will take place at Mt Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
