Jerome M. Leonard
Age 79, of Dover and Hyannisport, a retired partner of Ropes & Gray, passed away in Naples, FL on January 19, 2008. A resident of Dover and parishioner at the Church of the Most Precious Blood for 39 years. Mr. Leonard was born in Boston and graduated from Boston College and Boston College Law School. An avid debater in college, he put his persuasive skills to work in the Massachusetts, New Hampshire and federal courts, retiring as a litigation partner at Ropes & Gray, Boston. Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife, Virginia (Curley) Leonard, three daughters, Susan Leonard Repetti and her husband James, Elizabeth Leonard Argy and her husband Nicolas and Nan Leonard and her husband Cesar Brea all of Dover, and two sons, Jerome M. Leonard Jr. and his wife Janelle of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ, and Mark D. Leonard of Los Angeles, CA. His son James D. Leonard died as an infant in 1967. Mr. Leonard's brothers, Patrick J. Leonard of West Roxbury and James D. Leonard of Pompano Beach, FL survive him as well as 12 grandchildren and his nieces and nephews. Mr. Leonard was an enthusiastic golfer and member of the Hyannisport Club. He served on the Dover Zoning Board of Appeals and on the Board of Trustees of St. Sebastians School, Needham. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Thursday at 9 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Most Precious Blood, 30 Centre St., Dover, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.
