John R. Boyle, a resident of Charlestown for several years, died on Sunday January 20, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. He was 73 years old.
John was born in Boston on December 9, 1934. He attended Boston Latin School. John worked for several years as a truck driver for Budweiser and also for Boston's shipping industry. He was a member of The Cronin Club of Charlestown and the Stoneham Elks.
John is the loving companion of Lillian Garvey of Charlestown. He is the beloved husband of the late Joan (Sorey) Boyle. He is the father of Michael Lynch of Acton, John Lynch of North Andover, Lisa Cucore of Florida and Robin Sorey of Haverhill. He is the grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandaughter.
John's Funeral will be held on Wednesday January 23, 2008 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Catherine's Church, 49 Vine St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours for John will be on Tuesday January 22, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. Cremation will take place following his Funeral Mass.
