William Henry, 80, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts bravely met death on January 19, 2008 surrounded by loved ones. The youngest of eight children raised in Dedham. He was the son of John and Mary (Byrnes) Henry. He joined the U.S. Army and honorably served our country during World War II in Germany until the end of his tour of duty. He received the Purple Heart Award from the U.S. War Department. Also, while serving in the Army he was a Golden Gloves boxing champion.
He married Catherine Elizabeth O’Brien in January of 1957. He leaves behind three daughters; Kathleen and her husband Paul Marchisio of Holbrook, Mary Anne and her husband Robert Faulkner of Holliston and Karen and her husband Joseph Caraco of Weymouth along with seven grandchildren; Laura and Andrew Marchisio, Brandon and Meghan Faulkner, Christina, Matthew and Daniel Caraco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury, Thursday, January 24th at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8pm.
