New Bedford –Amelia Pacheco (Policarpo) Correia, age 85, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 at St, Luke’s Hospital, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Germino B. Correia. She was the mother of Luguesio Correia, Paul Correia, Frank Correia and Maria Maocha all of New Bedford. She was the sister of Antonio Policarpo. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, 5 grand children Jesse, Jase, Jordan, Collin, Jillian, Ron and 1 great grand child Jordan Jr.She was also predeacesed by several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Correia was a daughter of the late Tobias and Juaquina (Furtado) Policarpo. She was born in Azores, Portugal and lived here since 1968. She was formerly employed has Packer at Frioneer.
Mrs. Correia’s funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M., Burial will follow at St John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
