William B. “Bill” Henderson, Jr., 64, of Ocilla died Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Saint Williams Catholic Church in Fitzgerald with Father Lawrence Lucree officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-12 Wednesday morning at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Henderson was born January 19, 1944 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late William Bailey and Frances Milton Henderson. He lived in the community most of his life. He graduated from Gordon Military College and West Georgia College. Mr. Henderson was a captain in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving in Pleiku in 1968. He was a member of the Ocilla Methodist Church.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife: Nellie B. Henderson of Ocilla; sister & brother-in-law, Jan & Ed Mixon of Greenville, SC; nieces, Ann (Jeff) Doyon of Arlington, VA and Lyn (Tommy) Thompson of Greenville, SC; great niece, Heather Thompson and great nephews, Andrew Doyon, Josh Doyon and Cory Thompson.
