LEICESTER: Joseph D. Gagnon,86, of 45 Mayflower Rd., died Sunday, Jan. 20 at
Parsons Hill Nursing Home in Worcester.
He was the husband of Geneva C. (Baublis) Gagnon who died in 1998. He leaves
two sons Jay J. Gagnon and his wife Yuklan of Holden and Donald D. Gagnon of
Worcester, two grand daughters Moya S. Robletto of Milton and Mareesa
Pemberton of Newton.
Mr. Gagnon was born in Fitchburg, the son of Donald and Emma (Adams)
Gagnon.
Joe, was a certified tooling engineer at the former Perkins Machine Co. in
Warren before retiring in 1986. Previously, he worked at UTD in Athol and
Rice Barton Co. in Worcester. He served in the United States Army Air Corps
during WW II and was a member of the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443.
He graduated from Mahar Regional High School in Orange. He was an avid
sportsman and golfer and was a former member of Hillcrest Country Club. He
was a founding member of the Pequog Bowmen in Athol. A self taught artist
and bird carver, his works were featured in area competitions and he won an
award from L.L. Bean in Freeport, ME.
Graveside services in Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol will be held at a
later date following cremation. There are no calling hours. MORIN-MORRISON
