NASHUA, NH - John E. Cwiklik, 93, a resident of Nashua, NH, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 18th, 2008, in Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH. He was the loving husband of the late Mary (Gancarz) Cwiklik.
He was born in Lowell, MA, on August 13, 1914, the son of the late Kazimierz and Antonia (Ktosowicz) Cwiklik. Mr. Cwiklik graduated from Lowell High School and the Lowell Textile Institute.
Mr. Cwiklik served in the United States Navy as a Parachute Rigger First Class in World War II. He was very patriotic and enjoyed telling stories of his Navy career, especially aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown.
He was employed by the United Elastic Company in East Hampton, MA, a division of the J.P. Stevens Company, where he worked as a designer for many years. Mr. Cwiklik then moved to Pennsylvania where he worked until retiring.
Mr. Cwiklik was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans.
In his free time he enjoyed watching football and listening to Polka music. He was very proud of his Polish heritage and was a membor of various Polish organizations.
Mr. Cwiklik is survived by his sister, Blanche Pawlukiewicz of Nashua, NH; and several nephews and nieces including, Jane LaFrance of Nashua, NH, Patricia Pawlukiewicz of Nashua, NH, Frances Beaulieu of Nashua, NH, Robert Cwiklik of Lowell, MA, and Edward Cwiklik of Glendale, AZ; great nephews and great nieces.
He was also the brother of the late Stanley Cwiklik.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, DRACUT, on Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM in the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Lowell, MA. Entombment and committal service to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery; burial in the spring in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
