Sidney E. Bailey, 74 of Londonderry, NH died January 18, 2008 in D’Youville Senior Care, Lowell, MA. Mr. Bailey was born in Portland, ME on September 24, 1933 the son of the late Earl C. and Mary T. (Lynch) Bailey. He had resided in Londonderry since 1970, formerly living in N. Andover and Danvers, MA. Mr. Bailey was a US Marine Corp veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1998 from Lucent Technologies in N. Andover where he was employed for 38 years. He was a former communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Gilford, NH. He snowmobiled until the last few years and liked to garden in his earlier years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the NE Patriots.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anna J. (Miller) Bailey of Londonderry, one son, Kevin Bailey and his wife Gercimar of Lowell, one daughter, Cheryl Ravesi and her husband Michael of Marlborough, MA, five grandchildren, one sister, Marjorie Mallette of Middleton, MA, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul Bailey and Charles Bailey.
Calling hours were held on Monday January 21, 2008 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Graveside services with military honors were held on Tuesday at 2:00pm in the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, Route 3, Boscawen, NH.
