Obituary

Jesup- Mr. Ronald C. Parmer, age 78, died Friday, January 18, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. The Barber County, Alabama native had lived in Jesup the past 4 years. He was a retired United States Army Paratrooper serving his country for 28 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Abbeville, AL, a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret S. Parmer.
Surviving are two daughters: Terry Eldridge of Jesup and Patty (Ricky) Bennett of Jesup; two sons Ronnie (Fran) Parmer of Jesup and Reggie (Kimberly) Parmer of McGregor, Texas.
Eight grandchildren: Seth Parmer, Brian Bennett, Krystal Bennett, Kenna Eldridge, Rhaelyn Boycher, Shelby Boycher, Abby Parmer, and Maggie Parmer; three great-grandchildren: Tessa Parmer, Coleman Parmer, Addison Bennett; two sisters and one brother also survive.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. from the NeSmith Room of Howard~Jones~Nobles Funeral Home.
Visitation will also be held Monday, January 21, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. from Chapman Funeral Home in Eufaula, AL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Abbeville, AL. with Reverend Ralph Baker and Reverend Sonny Mussleman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
