Obituary

CHARLTON-Paul J. Healey, 72, formerly of 100 Standish Street, Worcester died Saturday, January 25th at 40 Carroll Hill Road, Charlton, his sister-in-laws home, after an illness. His wife, Anne M. (Butler) Healey died in 1992. He leaves a sister, Frances T. Byrne of Worcester; many nephews and nieces; many grandnephews and grandnieces. A brother, James J. Healey and a sister, Rose P. Nystrom predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Daniel J. and Bridget (Harte) Healey. He attended Worcester Boys Trade School and was an U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Healey worked in the environ-medical department of the University of Massachusetts Healthcare/University Campus, Worcester for 17 years, retiring in 1994. Previously he worked for the Iron Workers Local #57 in Worcester, for many years. He was a member of St. John’s Church. He loved his animals and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 28th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, January 27th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Network Inc., Hospice Program, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, 01609.
