Teckla A. (Romanko) Grimshaw, 83, of Randolph died January 25, 2003 at Hancock Rehab & Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was the beloved wife of George J. Grimshaw, and daughter of the late Peter and Tanka Romanko.
Mrs. Grimshaw was born in Roslyn, New York, and had lived in Hyde Park and Randolph for most her life.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Randolph.
Mrs. Grimshaw was an oil painting artist and seamstress, as well as an avid speed skater and champion tennis player.
After raising her children, she became the most beloved and sought after baby-sitter in Randolph. She had also been a Girl Scout and Brownie leader.
Survivors include her husband; 2 daughters, Gayle Dayton, and her husband Stephen, of New Bedford, and Deborah Allen, and her husband Richard, of North Carolina; a brother, William Romanko of Boston; 2 sisters, Katherine Ciunyk of Lexington, and Ann White of Duxbury; 3 grandchildren, Joshua Dayton, Hannah Dayton and Rebecca Allen; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Jason Allen and sister of the late Marion Millian.
