Worcester- Mary E. (Allen) Ginkus, 98, of Worcester, died Friday, Jan. 24, in the Odd Fellows Home, after an illness.
Her husband of 38 years, Joseph C. Ginkus Sr., died in 1965. She leaves a son, Joseph C. "Bud" Ginkus Jr. of Leicester; a daughter, Mary L. Vercauteren of Worcester; a brother, Edward S. Allen of Worcester; a sister, Anna A. Greenwich of Worcester; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A brother, Anthony Allen of Worcester, and a sister, Ruth Yaselunas of Spencer, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Anthony and Helen (Ochricter) Allen and lived here most of her life.
Mrs. Ginkus was the eldest member of St. Casimir's Catholic Parish, where she was a member of both the Junior and Senior Choirs many years ago. She was a member of the Lithuanian Roman Catholic Women's Alliance, the St. Casimir's Mother's Guild and the St. John's Mother's Guild.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir's Catholic Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in the funeral home.
