Worcester: Katherine V "Kitty" Shustak 84 of 1050 Main Street formerly of 7 Hillside Street died January 24th in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center following an illness.
Her husband of twenty five years Michael "Mickey" Shustak died in 1981. Mrs. Shustak is survived by a son Richard Dubois of Norwood Mass. A daughter Phyllis M Wetherbee of Homosassa Springs Florida. A brother and sisters predeceased her. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and a niece.
She was born in Auburn a daughter of Lars and Ulrika (Peterson) Ostergard and lived most of her life in Worcester. A graduate of David Hale Fanning Girls Trade High School she later worked for twenty years as a Seamstress at David Clark Company, retiring twenty years ago.
Mrs. Shustak was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, and The AARP. She was a Senior Companion and Volunteer at Providence House Nursing Home Worcester. An avid Bingo Player, she also enjoyed crocheting.
Calling hours at The Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home 33 Ward Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com) 33 Ward Street are from 2 to 4pm Monday January 27th. A funeral service will be conducted at 4pm following the visitation in the funeral home. Following cremation burial of the ashes in Notre Dame Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
