Mrs. Mary Rita Griffin, age 92, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 in Winchester at Aberjona Nursing Center after a short illness. Born in Lowell, Mary Rita was the beloved daughter of the late Katharine A. (Scanlon) & Phillip A. McKenna.
Mary Rita was a homemaker and a lifelong Woburn resident. A 1932 Woburn High School graduate, she was very active in St. Joseph Church of Woburn. She enjoyed playing cards with her late husband Melvin and their dear friend´s, the late Mary & Tony Danielson.
Mary Rita was the beloved wife of the late Melvin F. Griffin. Devoted mother of Kathleen Berry of Woburn. Loving grandmother of William Berry of Woburn.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn Saturday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 100 Washington St., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
