Dorothy “Dot” Lee Tison, 81, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. James Griffin and Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Tison was born August 19, 1926 in Telfair County to the late James Thomas “Jim” and Estelle Cook Lee. She lived in the community most of her life, graduating from Fitzgerald High School. She was a former employee of Friedlanders Department Store, Colonial Village, Colony House Restaurant, Jimbos Restaurant and was a former Roanoke School lunchroom lady. Ms. Tison was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Ms. Tison is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy “Tom” & Debra Tison of Mesa, AZ and Wayne & Cheri Tison of Fitzgerald; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Hill of Hibbing, MN; brother & sister-in-law, James T. & Darlene Lee, Jr. of Golden, CO. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James Randall Tison, brother, Truman Lee and a sister, Vivian Hudson.
