Cobbett, James E. Sr. 83, of Marshfield formerly of Hanover, Jan 13. Beloved husband of Grammarose (McCafferty) Cobbett of Marshfield, and the late Barbara Jane (Imhof). Dear father of the late Jane Cobbett., Christine Wood & Bruce of Hull, James E. Cobbett & Barbara of Plymouth, the late Susan Cobbett., Kathryn Hubbard & Raymond of London, ENG., Patricia Broderick & Joseph of Weymouth, Deborah Gomer & Wayne of Kingston, Donna Smith & Brian of New Boston, NH., Charles Cobbett & Derryl of Pembroke, Rosemary Lambert & John of Wareham, James Lyons of Seattle, WA., Margaret Montoya & Gary of Tumwater, WA., and Frederick Lyons & Pamela of Olympia, WA. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Brother of Thelma Kelly of Ohio.
James was a US Navy Veteran, WWII. After joining the Navy in 1943 he attended Navy School for Machinist at Wentworth Institute and served aboard the USS Jordan DE204 until he was honorably discharged in 1945. James was also a member of the AFL Painters Union, District Council #35 Boston, MA.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St (Rte 139) Marshfield Thursday 8:45 followed by a Funeral Mass in St Mary of the Sacred Heart Church Hanover St, Hanover, at 10:00 am.
Visiting hours Wed 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
Interment will be in the Hanover Center Cemetery, Hanover.
