Clifton Bumpus Clifton Bumpus, 82, Clarksville, died Sunday, January 13, 2008, at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Steve Louder and Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday and from 9 am until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 12, 1925 in Montgomery County son of the late Norman Bumpus and Annie Mary Cotton Bumpus. Mr. Bumpus was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and member of Masonic Lodge #89 for over 50 years where he served as Worshipful Master. He was a US Army veteran and was a prisoner of war during WW II. Survivors include his wife Ruby Shearon Bumpus; daughters Patricia Black (Lemoine), and Elaine Poston (Ronnie); granddaughter, Misty Nash; and great-grandson, Hunter Nash; two step-grandchildren, Lisa Robertson, and Leigh Black; and two step great-grandchilddren, Matthew Potter and Austin Nash. Pallbearers wil be Lemoine Black, Ronnie Poston, Robert Nash, Mark Harris, Matthew Potter, Charlie Wade, and Roger Spears. Honorary pallbearers will be Dudley Marklan, James Alsbrooks, David Watson, David Lee, Chuck Cates and Neal Alsbrooks.
