WINDHAM, NH – Kathleen J. (Bernhard) Bachand 57 of Windham, NH, formerly of Lawrence and Salisbury died Saturday January 12, 2008 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer.
Kathleen was born on February 9, 1950 to Mary Ellen and Harry “Bud” Bernhard. She was raised in Methuen, MA and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Northern Essex Community College. She worked at the Internal Revenue in Andover and at the Lawrence Registry of Deeds for 20 years as a dedicated employee.
She was devoted to her husband, family and grandcildren. She took pride in her family and was happiest when doing for and giving to her family and friends. Her engaging smile caught the eye of everyone along with her contagious sense of humor. Her quick wit always had people laughing. She brought much joy to everyone she met.
She will be sadly missed by her surviving family which includes her husband Raymond P. Bachand of 34 years, 2 daughters Kimberly (Bachand) Cloutier of Salem, NH and Amy E. (Bachand) Beaulieu and husband Danny of Derry, NH.
4 adoring grandchildren Todd, Andrew, Alicia Cloutier and Brandon Beaulieu.
2 sisters Nancy Wrenn wife of the late Michael Wrenn of Haverhill, MA and Rosemary Scully wife of Joseph Scully also of Haverhill, MA.
Sister-in-law Shirley and Dapper Dupuis of Raymond, NH and also sister-in-law Muriel Caracoglia of Lawrence, MA. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, including all her friends at the Fireside Restaurant in Methuen.
Kathleen’s family would also like to give special thanks to Merrimack Valley Hospice and her nurse Karen Paparro.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorials can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack Street BLDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01843. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:00a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Lawrence. Burial will take place at a later date in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery also in Lawrence, MA.
