Mary L. McGrath, age 80, of Woburn formerly of Wakefield, died January 12th at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of William J. McGrath with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Malden she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Loretta (Mazzulli) Scandura.
Mrs. McGrath worked for many years as a data entry supervisor for the Itech Corp. which was formerly located in Lexington. Mostly devoted to her family she enjoyed caring for her flower garden, working on puzzles during the winter months, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her beloved husband, Mrs. McGrath is survived by her daughter Shaye Leary and her husband Joseph of Woburn, and her son Michael McGrath and his wife Sharon of Stoneham. She is also survived by her grandsons Joseph W. Leary of Woburn and Stephen J. McGrath Jr. of Arizona. She is further survived by her sister, Sylvia Healey of Wakefield and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the McLaughlin- Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, January 17th, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church 280 Main St., Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, January 16th, from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Mary’s name to the St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
