Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Ernesto Camilo, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for 30 years, died Friday, January 11, 2008, at the Winchester Hospital.
He was the husband of Maria Edwarda (Viveiros) Camilo, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 21st.
Born in St. Michael, Azores on July 25, 1921, he was the son of the late Ernesto DeJesus and Escolasta (Teves) DeJesus.
Mr. Camilo was raised in St. Michael, the Azores.
In 1955, he moved to Somerville, where he lived until moving to Tewksbury in 1978.
While living in Tewksbury, he was a communicant of St. Williams Church.
Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was employed as a carpenter by the former High Voltage Engineering Company of Burlington, where he worked for over 30 years.
According to his family, he was a “proud grandfather and great grandfather and loved spending time his family”.
He enjoyed many activities especially gardening and caring for his grape vines.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marie F. Wade and her husband John, Carmen Seagren and her husband Carl all of Tewksbury, Steven V. Camilo and his wife Kelley of Charlotte, NC and Joseph V. Camilo and his wife Tracey of Tewksbury; eight grandchildren, John, David, Matthew, Michael, Jamie, Taylor, Ashley and Joey; four great grandchildren, Johnny, Taylor, Danica and Austin; one brother, Fernando De Jesus of St. Michael, the Azores; one sister, Ascenao Olivera of Lisbon, Portugal; also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Camilo was the brother of the late John Maio, Francisco Souza, Joseph Souza and Dulinda De Jesus.
Calling hours Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
