Lois A. (Steeves) Dargon, 58, of Mattapoisett died Wednesday January 22, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford after a long illness. She was the wife of Joseph N. Dargon.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Ross and Anna G. (Sherman) Steeves, she had lived in Mattapoisett for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett
Mrs. Dargon was formerly employed as a mental health worker at Concord State Hospital for 7 years, and then later was a medical secretary in a private medical practice for 3 years until her illness.
She enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Joseph Dargon and Charles Dargon, both of Maine; 5 daughters, Jeanne St. Onge of Rhode Island, Susan Steeves of Berlin, NH, Christine Dargon and Mary Dargon, both of Concord, NH, and Angela Dargon of Mattapoisett; 13 grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew.She was the sister of the late John Steeves.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Monday January 27, 2003 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday January 26, 2003 from 1-5 and 7-9 PM. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery.
