GLOUCESTER: Jeanann McLaughlin, 71, of 88 Pleasant Street, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 surrounded by her family in the Addison Gilbert Hospital, Gloucester.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on July 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Jean (Middleton) McLaughlin. She had resided in Long Island, New York for many years before moving to Gloucester eighteen years ago.
Jeanann was employed as a law clerk with the Gaston Snow Law Firm on Wall Street in New York City for twenty six years and with the same firm in Boston for ten years before retiring in 1993.
She is survived by five daughters, Lori DeCosimo of Queens, NY, Doreen Leonetti of Eagan, MN, Christi Trupia of Selden, NY, Michelle DeCosimo of Howard Beach, NY and Dina Reiser of Shirley, NY, three sons, Michael DeCosimo of Delray Beach, FL, Gary DeCosimo of Woodhaven, NY and Scott DeCosimo of Gloucester, eighteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, three sisters, Bonnie Miller of Oak Beach, NY, Betty Destifano of East Islip, NY and Debby Wood of East Meadow, NY, a brother, Donald McLaughlin of Oak Beach, NY, her former spouse, Michael DeCosimo of Gloucester and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sally Cataneo, two brothers, John and Dennis McLaughlin and her fiancé, Samuel Scola.
Due to the weather forecast, her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 1 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family, c/o Scott DeCosimo, P.O. Box 156, Gloucester, MA 01930. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
