
Wim Portier, 80 of Medway died January 10 in the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. He was the husband of Elisabeth (Jansen) Portier.
Born in Indonesia, October 8, 1927 the son of the late Hendrik and Louisa (Wintersteyn) Portier, Mr. Portier was raised in Indonesia and moved to the Netherlands at the age of 27.
He came to America in 1959 first living in Watertown and had lived in Medway since 1969.
Mr. Portier was a graduate of Bentley College.
Mr. Portier had worked for the Newton Savings Bank for over 25 years retiring as Assistant Vice President.
Mr. Portier had worked for the police departments in both Indonesia and in the Netherlands.
He was a member of the Medway Senior Citizens Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Henk Portier of Hull, Paul Portier of Milford, Sylvia Blonder and her husband, Ed Walsh of Worcester and son, Bob Portier and his wife Julie of Exeter, NH.
He is also survived by his brothers, Cornelies Portier and Bertus Portier of the Netherlands, sisters, Henny Schouten, Anna Horbeek and Hilda VanderGraff of the Netherlands and Louisa Stanfiel of New York. He was the brother of the late Sophie and Christian Portier.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
