Anne V. Rodrigues of Dartmouth died January 8, 2008 at Hathaway Manor after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Durval S. "Duke" Rodrigues.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late George Collard and Irene and Thomas Hynes, she lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth during their 61 years of marriage.
Mrs. Rodrigues was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
The focus of her life was her family and friends. She enjoyed summers at the family cottage at Wilbur's Point, Fairhaven with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Rodrigues was a former member of the New Bedford Women's Club and PTA at the Winslow School. She was an avid reader and traveler.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Glenn Rodrigues of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Maryanne Surprenant, and her husband Ernest, of Mattapoisett, Gale Moura, and Dawn Mendes, and her husband Bill, all of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Scott, Kelly, Kristen, David and Katie; and her special extended family; Christine, Beth and Michelle and their spouses and children.
She was predeceased by her special aunt, Anna Wrublasky.
Her private Funeral Service was held on Thursday, January 10th in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial followed in Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
