David G MacAlpine, Jr., 55, of Orland, ME., formerly of Whitman and Halifax, died suddenly at his home on Sunday January 6th. He was the son of Virginia (Nagy) MacAlpine of Exeter, NH. & Clearwater, FL. and the late David G .MacAlpine, Sr.
David was born in Chelsea, raised and educated in South Weymouth and Whitman. He graduated from Whitman Hanson Reg. High School Class of 1970.
David was active in Christian Endeavor at the Whitman Congregational Church.
He attained the status of a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 59 of Whitman.
David enjoyed sports especially ice hockey, he took pleasure in riding his motorcycle. He was a stamp & coin collector, he also enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.
David worked as a insulator for Local 6 of Boston for 33 years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by 3 sons, David G. MacAlpine ,III , Eric R. MacAlpine of Halifax and Marc R. MacAlpine of Laconia, NH., his brother Craig MacAlpine and his wife Cindy of Raymond NH., his sister, Bethe Power of Manchester, NH., his granddaughter Alixandria Hewitt ,his nieces and nephews, Bonnie, Ian, Jessica and Tyler, all of NH ;also his many friends in Maine that he thought of as family.
Friends and Family are invited to attend his services on Saturday January 12th at 4:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 @ the rotary Circle) Whitman.
