Obituary

James E. ”Jim” Dickason, 79, of Chester, NH, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Dickason was born in Lynn, MA on August 10, 1928, a son of the late Clarence and Melo (Carrow) Dickason. Jim grew up and farmed on his family’s “3 Maples” farm on Towle Road in Chester. He later went on to become a “Jack-of-all-Trades”, working throughout New Hampshire. Jim returned to Chester twenty-one years ago when he went to live with the McFarland family. He was a craftsman and enjoyed making miniatures, specializing in dollhouse furniture and wooden models. He was also a regular at the local flea markets and enjoyed attending functions with the Chester Senior Citizens.

He is survived by a brother, Alan Dickason and his wife Elizabeth (McGrath) Dickason of Mullica Hill, NJ, a nephew, David Dickason of Memphis, TN, three nieces, Linda Dickason of Medford, NJ, Patti Shippon of Voorhees, NJ, Lisa Semeraro of Wallingford, PA, five great-nieces and a great-nephew - Katie, Kristie, Elizabeth, Anthony, Christina and Nina. He is also survived by his adoptive family, Helen McFarland and her family of Chester.

Visiting hours were held from 2-6pm, Saturday, January 12th, 2008 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Private family graveside services will be held in Center Cemetery, Sandown, NH in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester Senior Citizens, c/o Hillary Hall, 109 Derry Road, P.O. Box 109, Chester, NH 03036.
