In Norton, January 7, 2008 Lois (Honey) Mallon, a lifetime resident of East Hodges Street, Norton, died peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family members, Monday January 7, 2008. She was the beloved wife of former Taunton resident, Walter Leo Mallon, her constant companion until his death in 1975. Lois had celebrated her 102nd birthday on December12th Lois leaves two daughter, Anita Kenniston, also a lifetime resident of Norton, along with her husband, Arnold, and Joanne Joella, her husband Kevin, and her son son Daniel, currently of Philadelphia. She was survived by her granddaughters and loving caregivers Heather Kenniston and Holly DeLano, both of Barrowsville, and Holly’s husband Roy and their children Corin Jackson, and Brandon and Christian DeLano. In addition, Lois has a granddaughter Dawn English of Taunton. She and her husband Peter have two children Noel and Megan. The daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Shearin) Honey, Lois graduated from Norton High School as did her sisters Barbara (Honey) Leavitt and Dorothy (Honey) Johnson and brother Wesley. Her brother Wesley’s son David Honey, also of Hodges Street, held a special place in Lois heart. She had worked as the Secretary to the Dean of Students at Wheaton Collage from 1960 until her retirement in 1975. Lois live was defined by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a tireless, nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her home. She was never too busy to can vegetables, bake pies, knit, sew, help others with their creations and most of all listen. Until her health failed, she was a devoted communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lois family on Thursday, January 10th, from 6-8 pm., in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton. Lois funeral will be held at the funeral home Fridat January 12th at 9 am. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 132 South Worcester Street in Norton at 10 am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
