Howard “Bud” Hill 81 years of West Bridgewater died Monday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the loving husband for 53 years of Lorraine A. (Kamel) Hill. Bud was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Fred and Marian (Andre) Hill. Since 1975 he had been a resident of West Bridgewater. Following his graduation from Brockton High School in 1944, he enlisted in the US Army. During WWII he served in the Pacific and Japanese Theatre. He had retired from Century Sportswear in Brockton.
Bud especially enjoyed spending time with his family members, in particular his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man who would do anything for anybody.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons Steven Hill and his wife Rita of Lynnfield
and David Hill and his wife Susan of Bridgewater. He was the devoted grandfather of Steven Hill, Jr. of Brockton and Rebecca and Laura Hill both of Bridgewater. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and was the brother of the late Roy Hill.
A funeral will be held from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church W. Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm.
