Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 9:30 am. Burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Visiting Hours Friday 4-7 pm.
Obituary Information
Mr. George died Tuesday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. Born and raised in Dedham, son of the late Edgar H. George and Fanny (Danner) George. He attended Dedham schools, after his marriage, he moved to Norwood and had been a resident for over 40 years. He served in the US Coast Guard during WW II, and had been employed by the US Navy for 39 years as a Marine Electrician, planner and estimator, he also worked on underwater nuclear weapons, working and riding on the first nuclear submarine. Resident of Matfield Woods for the past 6 years. Member of the Dedham American Legion Post #18, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dedham. He was in the Cribbage Leagues in both associations.
He is survived by 2 sons, Steven K. Brandos, MSP of Bridgewater and James D. Doherty, BPD of Bridgewater, 4 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a sister Mildred Lane of Ohio, a brother Henry George of CA.
Husband of the late Dorothy P. (Roach) George and brother of the late Edgar and William George.
